Although Gen Z was born into the social media era and utilizes it often, it does not indicate they are addicted. Studies have shown that many Gen Z survey respondents are aware of how long they use social media and intentionally limit their time online. Moreover, social media can be a positive factor for mental well-being, providing an opportunity for connection and support for young people.

Gen Z Is Entitled and Expects Everything To Be Handed to Them

This stereotype is frequently deployed to attack young adults for caring about social justice and equality. Nevertheless, the Gen Z impulse toward fairness and inclusion is not a privilege but an awareness of issues in society and a call to action. Many Gen Zers are also conscious of the obstacles they may encounter in the job market and are diligent to build their competencies and experience.

Gen Z Is Too Politically Correct

Although some of the older generations can fault Gen Z for being overly politically correct, it really comes down to wanting to be respected and feeling inclusive. Young people today are more attuned to social issues and their impact to marginalized communities and want to help change the world. Gen Z wants things to be fairer and more equal, so they challenge language and behavior that they see as harmful.

Many young people, even those who are well versed in technology, still value spending time with friends and family in person. Technology can help to relate and connect to relationships and keep in touch even if you are not together in person.

Today, many young people are questioning traditional gender roles and demanding more gender equality. Gen Z is no exception, and tends to be more supportive of LGBTQ+ rights and gender diversity. This does not mean that all Gen Zers oppose traditional gender roles, but that they are more willing to be open to other ways of expressing gender and sexuality.

Gen Z Is Not Interested in Owning Property or Settling Down

A lot of young people are postponing marriage and homeownership in today’s society, but that doesn’t mean they are not interested in these things. Although some older generations may look down on job hopping, it can demonstrate ambition and personal growth. It is no secret that many younger people today value job satisfaction and career growth over job security and stability.
