First Date Flirting Tips: 5 Ways to Master the Game and Win Your Crush’s Heart

Flirting Tips

Flirting doesn’t come easy for everyone. If you’re reading this, you are likely one of the people who find flirting confusing. You likely don’t understand how some naturally flirt without thinking about it.

Don’t feel bad if flirting is challenging for you! It is a learned skill. Those who make it look natural had a lot of practice with it.

Here are five tips for mastering flirting and winning your crush’s heart:

1. Don’t be someone you aren’t.

One of the best ways to be good at flirting is to know who you are and to use that to your advantage. If you’re shy, you can still be an incredible flirt. Even so-called awkward people can be flirtatious! Ask your friends what they like most about you and use that in your flirting techniques. Remember: Trying to be someone you aren’t can be very unattractive.

2. It’s all in the eyes.

Flirting is about correct eye contact. That doesn’t necessarily mean long moments of looking soulfully into someone’s eyes. Even that can become uncomfortable. Try short glances across the room. Add a smile, a wave, or a touch, and the quickest meeting of the eyes can become a flirtatious connection.

3. Learn to use body language.

The way you move and position yourself says a lot to someone. Take time to learn the art of body language. When you’re interested in someone, turn to direct your body, so it faces them. Don’t cross your arms. Smile. Laugh. Make casual eye contact. Touch them a little (but not inappropriately); you would want them to notice you’re very comfortable around them. If you want to take it to the next level, try rubbing your thumb over your lips or licking them. It’ll draw their eyes in that direction and can be very flirtatious!

4. Learn the art of visuals in texting.

If you’re texting with someone and want to flirt with them, one of the most effective ways to get your point across without actually saying you are into them is through graphics. You can use emojis like the blushing smiley face or the hug emoji. Avoid the kiss emoji at first. GIFs are especially fun. There’s a GIF for every emotion you want to relay – respond with a funny or emotional GIF. It’ll show that you are very interested in the conversation – hence the person behind it.

5. Be curious

Part of flirting is showing your interest in another person. If you want to win your way into your crush’s heart, be curious about them. Ask questions. Once you get past the standard, “What do you do for a living?” and “Where did you grow up?” you can move on to more interesting questions. Ask them about the band t-shirt they wear or the volunteering they mentioned they do. Show a genuine interest in their passions and the things that make them smile. Although simple, it can be one of the best ways to flirt.

Flirting is unique to each individual. To become a master flirt, all you have to do is be who you already are and find a way to use that to show your crush you are interested in them. Happy flirting the right way!
